Ensure your recording and writing equipment is in working order and always carry spares (pens, recorders, batteries, SD card, etc.). If you need the interviewee to sign a release form for the interview, be sure to have one with you. This is particularly important for long interviews that will need to be cut into a broadcast. This is not necessary for corporate or political spokespersons – by definition of their job, they agree to the interview and to its use by you in whatever way you decide. However, they do have the right to complain if they do not like the way you have presented it.
